EXCEL TBILLYIELD FUNCTION

The Tbillyield function in Excel estimates the yield on a Treasury Bill.

Syntax :

=TBILLYIELD( settlementmaturitypr )

Parameters :

  • Settlement – The finance bill’s settlement date.
  • Maturity – The treasury bill’s expiry date.
  • Pr – The price of a treasury bill per $100 face value.

Example :

the Excel Tbillyield function was used to determine the yield on a t – bills with a closing date of 01-Feb-2017, an expiry of 30-Jun-2017, and a face value of $99: In the above example, the Tbillyield function produces a yield of 2.44 percent.

  • #NUM! – Occurs if the final payment or the maturity date is more than one year after the date of settlement; the provided pr argument is 0.
  • #VALUE! – Occurs if any of the given parameters are non-numeric, or if the settlements or age arguments are not valid dates.
