EXCEL TBILLPRICE FUNCTION

The Excel Tbillprice formula uses the cost of a Government Bond per $100 face value.

Syntax :

=TBILLPRICE( settlementmaturitydiscount )

Parameters :

  • The following parameter are:

settlements –

  • The finance bill’s settlements date
  •  

maturity –

  • The government bill’s maturity date .

pr –

  • The percentages discount rate on treasury bills.

Example :

The Excel Tbillprice function was used to compute the price, per $100 face value, of a treasury bill with a closing date of 01-Feb-2017, an expiry of 30-Jun-2017, and a cash rate of 2.75 percent:
In other words, a treasury note with the following provisions is worth $98.86.

  • #NUM! – Occurs if one of the following conditions is met: the settlement date is the maturation date, or the maturity seems to be more than one year after the closing date, or
    The provided discount parameter is 0.
  • #VALUE! – Occurs if either: the given settlements or maturity parameters are not valid Excel dates, or any of the given parameters is not a number.
