EXCEL TBILLEQ FUNCTION

The Tbilleq function in Excel computes the bond-equivalent yield on a Treasury Bill.

Syntax :

=TBILLEQ( settlementmaturitydiscount )

Parameters :

  • Settlement – The finance bill’s settlement date.
  • Maturity – The bank bill’s maturity date.
  • Discount – The percent discount rate on treasury notes.

Step By Step Guide of TBILLEQ Function

Example :

The Excel Tbilleq function was used to determine the bond-equivalent yield for a treasury bill with a settlement date of 01-Feb-2017, a maturity date of 30-Jun-2017, and a 2.5 percent discount: The Tbilleq function above yields the value 0.025612238. (i.e. 2.56 percent ).

  • #NUM! – Occurs if one of the following conditions is met: the settlement date is the maturity date, or the maturity date is more than one year after the settlement date, or The provided discount parameter is 0.
  • #VALUE! – Occurs if the settling or maturity parameters are invalid dates, or if any of the provided arguments is non-numeric.
