Taiwan’s securities trading center is called the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE). It was founded in 1961 and started operations in February 1962, with headquarters in Taipei. Stocks, government bonds, convertible bonds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), call and put warrants, and Taiwan Depositary Receipts are among the securities listed on the exchange (TDRs).
On October 29, 2002, the TWSE Taiwan 50 Index was launched. The Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TWSE) teamed up with FTSE International Limited to create the country’s first tradable index. It monitors the top 50 firms in terms of overall market capitalization. The free float methodology is used to calculate the index.
