EXCEL SECH FUNCTION

The Sech function in Excel computes the hyperbolic secant (sech) of a given angle.

Syntax :

=SECH( number )

Parameters :

  • The angle (in radians) for which you wish to compute the hyperbolic secant is specified in the number parameter. This number must be between -227 and +227.

Example :

The Excel Sech Function is being used in the below worksheet to compute the hyperbolic secant of four distinct angles:
In cell A3, the Excel Pi method is used to supply the number 4 to the Sech function; in cell Sheet, the Excel Relative motion method is used to translate the angle of 60 degrees into radians before passing it to the Sech function.

  • #NUM! – This error occurs if the given number is less than -227 or larger than 227.
  • #VALUE! – Occurs if the number parameter provided is not recognised as a numeric value.
