The NSE’s consistent leadership positions across asset classes in the Indian and global exchange industries attest to the exchange’s stability and liquidity.
NSE was established in 1992. In April 1993, SEBI designated it as a stock exchange, and it began operations in 1994 with the opening of the wholesale debt market, followed by the establishment of the cash market section shortly after.
The NIFTY 50 is the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE) flagship index. The Index is based on the performance of a portfolio of blue chip businesses, which are India’s largest and most liquid equities. It is a true reflection of the Indian stock market because it includes 50 of the approximately 1600 businesses listed on the NSE, captures approximately 65 percent of its float-adjusted market capitalization, and comprises 50 of the approximately 1600 companies listed on the NSE.
The NIFTY Bank Index is made up of India’s most liquid and well-capitalized banking stocks. It serves as a benchmark for investors and market intermediaries, capturing the capital market performance of Indian banks.
