The London Stock Market (LSE) is the largest stock exchange in Europe and the primary stock exchange in the United Kingdom. The regional exchanges, which date back over 300 years, were merged in 1973 to become the Stock Exchange of Great Britain and Ireland, which was later renamed the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
From 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the London Stock Exchange is open. Time zone: UK with a break between 12:00 and 12:02 p.m. With a total trading length of 8 hours and 28 minutes, the London stock market hours are among the world’s longest.
The FTSE 100 is a stock index that measures the performance of the top 100 firms listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) by market capitalization. It has been one of the most widely traded indexes at one time.
The FTSE All-Share Index represents the performance of all eligible companies listed on the London Stock Exchange’s (LSE) main market. The FTSE All-Share Index is considered to be the best performance measure of the London equity market, with the overwhelming majority of UK-focused money invested in funds which track it.
