EXCEL GAMMALN FUNCTION

The Gammaln function in Excel returns the natural logarithm of the Gamma Function (n).

Syntax :

=GAMMALN( x )

Parameters :

The following parameters are :

  • Where x is the positive value at which the function should be evaluated

Step By Step Guide of GAMMALN Function

Example :

The graph on the right depicts the Gamma Function’s natural logarithm.
If you wish to determine the value of this function at x = 4.5, use the Excel Gammaln function, as shown below:
GAMMALN = ( 4.5 )
This yields the answer 2.453736571.

  • #NUM! – Occurs if the value of x given is 0.
  • #VALUE! – Occurs if the given x value is not a number.
