BRIEF ABOUT INDICES(History)

The FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index is intended to represent the performance of the most prominent firms in the markets of the ASEAN region. Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand will be the initial markets. Other markets may be added in the future. The Index is appropriate for ETFs, derivatives, and other tradable instruments. The FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index’s base currency is US dollars.

FORMULA

The FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index is calculated using actual trade prices for securities having local stock exchange quotations. The index is calculated using definitive real-time spot currency values.

TIMING

  • The FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index is calculated Mondays through Fridays at 09:00 a.m. until each of the constituent markets closes.
  • The closing index value is determined at 18:00 hours local Singapore time; 10:00 hours GMT.
