BRIEF ABOUT INDICES(History)

The EURO STOXX 50 Index, Europe’s main blue-chip index for the Eurozone, is a blue-chip representation of the region’s supersector leaders. The index includes 50 stocks from eight nations in the Eurozone: Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.

The indices are computed using the Laspeyres formula, which compares price changes to a constant base quantity weight. Each index has a unique index divisor, which is adjusted to maintain the index’s values’ continuity across changes caused by corporate actions.
