EXCEL COUNTBLANK FUNCTION

This function will count the number of empty cells.

Syntax:

=COUNTBLANK (range)

Parameter list:

range – the range within which blank cells should be counted.

Step By Step Guide of COUNTBLANK Function

=COUNTBLANK(D2:D7), for example, counts the number of blank cells in the range D2:D7.

  • Cells containing formulae that return ”” (empty text) are counted as well.
  • Cells having a value of 0 are not counted.
