EXCEL IMABS FUNCTION

The Imabs function in Excel returns the exact number (modulus) of a real or complex.

Syntax :

=IMABS( inumber )

Parameters :

  • The arguments inumber is a Complex Number.

Example :

In the following example, the Excel Imabs function is used to calculate the exact number (the modulus) of five distinct complex integers.
The complex number 6+0i is equivalent to the integer 6 in cell B3; the example in cell B5 utilises the Excel Complex Function to generate the complex number 4+i.

  • #NUM! – This error occurs if the given inumber parameter is not a complex number.
  • #VALUE! – Occurs if the inumber parameter supplied is a logical value.
