he Harmean function in Excel computes the harmonic mean of a given set of numbers.
Description of Excel HARMEAN Function
Syntax :
=HARMEAN( number1, [number2], … )
Parameters :
The following parameters are :
- Where the number parameters are one or more positive numeric values (or arrays of numeric values) for which the harmonic mean is to be calculated. The function may accept up to 255 number parameters in current versions of Excel (Excel 2007 and beyond), but only 30 number arguments in Excel 2003. Each parameter, on the other hand, can be an array of values or a range of cells, each of which can contain several values.

Example :
The spreadsheet on the right illustrates a simple example of the Excel Harmean Function, which is used to calculate the harmonic mean of the values in columns A1-A5. In this case, the Harmean function gives 1.229508197.
