EXCEL GAMMA.DIST FUNCTION

This article explains the formula syntax and usage of Microsoft Excel’s GAMMA.DIST function. Give me the gamma distribution. This function can be used to investigate variables with skewed distributions. In queuing analysis, the gamma distribution is often utilised.

Syntax :

=GAMMA.DIST(x,alpha,beta,cumulative)

Parameters :

The following parameters are :

  • The letter X is required. The value at which the distribution should be evaluated. The presence of Alpha is required. The distribution’s parameter.

 

  • Beta testing is required. The distribution’s parameter. GAMMA if beta = 1. The standard gamma distribution is returned by DIST.

 

  • Cumulative Requirement A logical value that specifies the function’s shape. GAMMA if cumulative is TRUE. If FALSE, DIST returns the probability density function; otherwise, it returns the cumulative distribution function.

Example :

  • GAMMA.DIST returns the #VALUE! error value if x, alpha, or beta are nonnumeric.
  • If x is equal to zero, GAMMA.DIST returns the #NUM! error value.
  • If alpha or beta are both zero, GAMMA.DIST returns the #NUM! error value.
