EXCEL ARABIC FUNCTION

The Arabic function in Excel transforms a Roman numeral to an Arabic numeral.

Syantax:

=ARABIC( text )

Parameter:

  • The text argument represents a Roman number in text form (no more than 255 characters long).

Example:

The spreadsheet below illustrates five applications of the Excel Arabic Function.

  • #VALUE!
    – Occurs if the text parameter given is not a valid Roman number.
  • #NAME? – Occurs if one of the following conditions are met: The text parameter is passed straight to the function without being surrounded by quotation marks.
    or 

          You are using a version of Excel before to 2013 that does not support the Arabic function.
